What to Watch

I’m attempting to blog again after a year-long hiatus.

Let me start with a quick “Hi!” and sincerely wish that you’re all safe and fine.

My son, Theo Jacob ♥ Motherhood happened hence the break!

I started watching more TV shows during my maternity leave. I had nothing else to do because A, I had a really huge tummy, that it was so difficult to simply move around and B, I didn’t have the drive to finish reading a good book!

Indulging in amazing TV shows is fine as long as we know how to utilize our time. As they say, moderation is the key to life…

…but you can watch just one more episode because the cliffhanger’s too good, right?!… I know we all can #relate!

Anyway, here’s a list of the shows or TV series that I recommend!

How to Get Away with Murder

Sure. My list is in random order but there must be a reason why HTGAWM is number one. Pete Nowalk (the show’s creator) is. a. gem. Two weeks ago, the show just gave us a finale that we truly deserve. (That’s how you end a phenomenal series!!!)

Brilliantly written story line. Notable character development. Surprising twists. Exceptional turns.

Everything is just wonderfully weaved!

The series is predominantly about Annalise Keating, a criminal defense lawyer and professor at Philadelphia University and five aspiring law students whose lives have been entangled in a murder plot.

I am no spoiler but let me just say how this show made me shed some tears during Annalise’s speech to the Supreme Court; the revelation about Frank’s identity; Wes’ fate; Colliver’s scene; and the epic closing argument by Annalise about the masks we all wear.

The show tackles a number of issues that could easily resonate to the hearts of many.  So if you are into a legal thriller (or not), I recommend HTGAWM with all my heart.

Suits

I generally love TV shows that make me think and feel. This pretty sums up the reason why Suits is on my list.

It is a legal drama series set at a fictional law firm in New York City. Admittedly, it was Mike Ross’ interview with Harvey Specter that got me hooked!

I was really into the show, that I played their opening theme song a number of times.

See the money wanna stay

For your meal

Get another piece of pie

For your wife…

…Me and Missy is so early busy, busy makin’ money

Alright

All step back, I’m ’bout to dance

The greenback boogie

Fellow Suits fans, I know you sang that, too.

Cool. Fun. Interesting. I guess that’s how I’d describe the first few scenes until the plot propelled and eventually realized that there’s more to it than its characters’ fun banters (and power dressing!!!)

How could I not love Harvey Specter, Mike Ross, Donna Paulsen, Jessica Pearson, Louis Litt, Samantha Wheeler and more?! Go, watch it!

Crash Landing on You

If I remember it well, I didn’t watch another Korean series after binge-watching The Rooftop Prince in 2013.

Fast forward 2020 and I gave in!

I’ve attempted to watch a brand new Korean series and Crash Landing on You didn’t disappoint.

Honestly, I started to love it more when I was already watching the 3rd or 4th episode.  The story’s pretty much interesting. It even made me research about North and South Korea.

Crash Landing on You is beautiful. No wonder why it’s such a huge hit. Period.

PS Hyun Bin is love.

Itaewon Class

First of all, Park Seo-joon is one of the best actors in South Korea.

I kid you not.

There are shows that I can watch for a month (i.e. I can delay and watch them 15-20 minutes a day!) and then there are shows that I can watch nonstop.

Guess how I watched it.

Itaewon Class is heartwarming, inspiring and thought-provoking. The series talks about the right, the wrong and more!

“Did the coin come up head or tails? Flipping the coin, which one did I wish for? I decided to call it tails.”

“I’m a rock. Go ahead and sear me. I won’t budge an inch because I’m a rock. Go ahead and beat me up. I’m a solid rock. Go ahead and leave me in darkness. I’m a rock that will shine all alone. I don’t break, ash, nor decay as I go against nature’s way. I survive. I’m a diamond.”

“I’m not depending on someone else’s dream. And I’m not going to live your dream either. I’m going to live for myself. It’s my life.”

It teaches a lot of life lessons. One of my favorites is how holding a life-long grudge isn’t the way to live.

Love the story telling. Authentic. Believable. Compelling.

So…

I just figured that it might take me forever to finish this because I have a lot of things to share per series! Hehehe! Let me just sum it up in a sentence (or two!!!)

Designated Survivor

I didn’t know that this concept exists in the United States! The show started with a mass terrorist attack on the State of the Union Address in Wahington DC.

Money Heist

It deserves the hype it receives!

Stranger Things

I don’t think you’ll not love this!

What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?

“Aura!” – PSJ my love

The Politician

Waiting for the next season!

Lucifer

Also can’t wait for the next season!

“Detective…”

Insatiable

100+ plot twists in 5 seconds!

Dynasty

Always rooting for Fallon Carrington. I’m currently watching this! (Season 3 just hit Netflix last Saturday!)

Game of Thrones

But we’re not discussing its finale. Not today.

That’s it! Let me know your favorites! I’d be happy to watch them, too!

♥️,

Shola
